As some of you know, I recently upgraded injectors and MAF housing for homebrew stage 3. Before this, I was running a stage 3- setup on stock injectors and MAF. With stage 3- running slightly over 1bar at redline, my injector duty cycle was in the 130-140% range:
![]() I recently logged injector fuel on time again to compare injector duty cycles before/after upgrading injectors and I'm still over 100% (~110%) near redline: ![]() I only increased boost 3 psi, but stock injectors at 5 bar fuel pressure supposedly flow less than 400cc/min whereas the Bluetops I have in there now should flow almost 490cc/min at 5 bar fuel pressure. |

It makes no sense to me, totally stumped. I'm hoping people of all different mod stages, even stock, will post so I can see the progression of duty cycle. This could turn into a really informative thread, but people need to gather info. If anyone local to me has some time so I can log their car's fuel injector on time for this, I'd be very grateful.

I don't actually expect many responses this late, but I wanted this to be posted before I wake up.

and X chip software is designed to run really rich.
Quit diddling around with narrowband sensors and tune with a wideband. I'll try to get you some logs sometime. My primary fuel is -12.1% and I know I'm still pretty rich. |

Seriously, I'd recommend some wideband datalogging. Its probably not ideal to max out the injectors, but as long as they are providing sufficient fuel to prevent you from running lean (where the wideband comes in... I still have a hard time relying on the narrowband sensors), then you should be ok.
Who knows... maybe your car is running really rich at the top end. And I'd suggest posting injector duty graphs instead of injector on-time... makes it much easier to read (and its not that hard to calculate). -Dave Pramanik |
