Default For the record: The bentley says spark plug gap is 0.4-0.6mm, or 0.0157"-0.0236"

In other words, the plug gap I'm using is too wide! I set mine to 0.028" (0.71mm), which is not within the range of 0.015"-0.023". I asked on here a couple of times and didn't get much info.

Is it me, or does this recommended plug gap seem very small? I always thought direct ignition coils were strong enough for a much wider plug gap. I think I'll set my new plugs to 0.020" and see how it runs. I run regular copper ngk plugs.

Default I think the Bentley is wrong on that. EVERY stock plug that I've removed was gapped at 0.028".

The Bosch Platins are pregapped to 0.6mm (0.024") and are fine at that gap.

Default Nothing wrong with 0.028". If the car runs fine at that gap, leave them there. That is the OEM gap

Default pregap doesn't mean you don't need to know the proper gap

I wouldn't install pregapped plugs without checking the gap. To check them, you need to know what the proper gap is

Default OEM gap for stock boost levels

From what I've heard, if you run a given gap for stock boost level, you would tighten the gap slightly when adding more boost. My car runs great. I wonder what the max gap is for running 20psi thanks
