First, the basics:
2001.5, 6-Speed (M-Box) 100% stock 93 Octane 65F, high humidity 1000 feet Just myself Average of three runs in three different locations, seperated by a few minutes each: 6.06, 6.06, 6.05. Net: 6.06, or ~6.1. When I first started capturing my FATS times a few weeks ago, I was surprised at the results considering what I'd read and my recent dyno results. I consulted with some wizened old veterans, re-logged the data multiple times, and re-ran the tests at several different locations. As long as the car was still breathing relatively cool air (and timing wasn't being pulled by the ECU), I found myself getting very consistent results. I'll let the pretty pictures do the talking: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Note that when I converted to PSI, I subtracted the reported vacuum at idle of 970 mBar: ![]() ![]() ![]() Big thanks to Nye, Doc, and Darin for their email consultation, as well as Mark P for his idiot-proof FATS calculator. I'm encouraged by the results - now if only I could be convinced to mod the car!

Nonetheless, you're welcome if I did indeed help and you have one crazy fast stock car. Mod it so you can break ever single stage FATS receord now!

These are just the final day's worth of logs.

but mine seems abnormally slow.
details on how you logged? which blocks and with VAG? looks like only 003 but you also have boost logged (i assume this is a seperate run to increase sample rate?)

So I went back an re-logged four more times. Unless my car is behaving oddly or my VAG-COM is accelerating my results, I'm pretty confident in the data.
![]() Since I'm unchipped, I mostly logged 003 to preserve resolution. Boost was logged in a seperate run just to make sure I wasn't overboosting or running a mild chip (TAP, Neuspeed, etc.). I think gas played a lot in my car's results, but beyond that, I'd be open to further research to figure it out.
