Default I'm tired....just did 31 Dyno pulls tonight. My car is now basically...*edited*

as fast on 91 octane as it was on the last Dyno session with 94 octane (258 whp and 322 lbs tq.) Only thing that was different on my car this time was my custom exhaust and Darintake. Dyno sheets to follow, i'm too tired to scan them right now. This time around we tried retarding timing instead of advancing it. X-1 Racer posted yesterday about how his timing was so poor but according to my logs the less timing I had the more HP I got. On Run 27 my timing was retarded by -2.25 in lemmi. This is just not peak HP and TQ...the power curve with -2.25 timing was a lot better than run 3 (default lemmi settings - see chart below) After my Dyno session I drove a mile up the street to pour some 100 in ..mixed up about 95 octane and my timing looked like this with -3 timing retard...

and here is my timing with -2.25 timing retard (run 27) compared to lemmi with default settings (run 3) both on 91 octane...

Along with the timing retard and fuel tweaks My CF's are all 7 and under...before they hung around 9-10 with occasional 12's. After 95 octane CF's were around 3 and under. My car likes to run rich...A/F ratios were around 12.2:1 and near redline they hung around 11.5:1 My Final timing setting were -3 and my results were 250 whp and 328 wtq. My FATS time is still sub 5 seconds (pretty damn good for a stg 2+ imo) I'm happy, for now, still more to be done before Ko4's (I'm going to try lowering IAT's down now with water injection, phenolic spacers, etc)...Anyway, I'm tired, time to get some ZZZzzzZZZzzz's

Default This proves my point that more is not always better when it comes to timing. There IS a sweet spot.

Thanks for showing that. :-)

Default Damn bro! I sure hope you have the hookup on the dyno, cuz that's a lot of time. I don't think

I would have the patience to sit there all day and wait for the car to cool down, dyno, cool down, dyno, etc. That's great someone has the time to do all this. Your efforts, along with nyets lately have been awesome. Not to forget the old schoolers markP, doc, mikey, 2ks4, Funkizzle, simp, and others I'm sure I forgot. If I could just pull my car into my office I could try and offer more!

Default Uh, "Ricer"? [thanks for editing your post]

I raced motorcycles for years, and X-1 is my company name. Screen name has stuck through many forums before AW.
I finally got ECUx working last night so I'll be logging the sh!t out'a my car starting today.

Default hahaha my bad...I was tired last night and I could have sworn it was Ricer...lol

its been removed now that i know you've seen it. Anyway, just wanted to show you that timing isn't all that important. A/F ratio is imo.
