Default Those in knowing of Seafoam & its use?

I've read some posts about using Seafoam and one in general said that they removed a fuel line in the engine bay to consume about a 1/2 of a cup. Then put the rest in the gas tank. Why/What's the purpose of doing it that way instead of just adding it all to your gas tank in the first place? Which Seafoam product is recommended, Red/Green?

Default OMG don't do that!! It's a vacuum line you need to consume from. Put some in the block and some in -

the fuel tank. Run the tank to empty then change the oil. I used the motor treatment which is green.

Default how many miles man? i can't see using it unless you have very high mileage

and have seen considerable drops in performance due to the high mileage.

Default I dunno man. I've seen some pretty 'carbonized' motors. I would say it's a good thing to do every

50k or so.

Default Seafoam is a great product. (MORE)

Seafoam is a great product. I'm personally a firm believer in it. (when used properly)

Ways to use Seafoam:

Pure ONE bottle in your tank with at least 8 gallons in it. One bottle can treat 8-16 gallons.

Use the Vacuumed line to feed it in to your intake manifold. (a typical Boost gauge installing guide can help you in finding a line.) - After doing this turn the car off and leave it for 15min.

You should use Seafoam only 10% of your total cylinder size. Example 2.7 liters Total size and only 10% [0.27 liters] should be Seafoam.
One bottle will go fast with 2 vacuum line.

There will be heavy amount of white smoke for about 15 min. (maybe more if you run more Seafoam)

Run the car hard for about 2-3 miles so all the carbon will burn off.

You can use a vacuumed line for DVs in conjunction with another vacuumed line to make sure all cylinders are getting the Seafoam.

Changing spark plugs after a bottle of Seafoam treatment via vacuum line are recommended. But not for tank treatment. (Most people run the car hard for about a week and it cleans out the plugs, depending on the type of plugs, i.e. platinum or copper.)

I personally run one bottle in my tank with 8-9 gallons every 3 months. I feel it keeps the misfires down at idle. (working on proving this)

There are many other uses for this product. But these are my personal experiences with Seafoam.

Here is a link to their website with pictures and more info.
