as you can tell the dust boots are shot. the guy who owns the car is a track junkie and runs his car really strong....

I'm prying the piston out to check the sealing ring, just for the heck of it, which turned out to be OK. (NOT NECESSARY, but, may help to bring the pistons out a bit)

dust boot kit from stoptech..

prying out the remains of the dust boot...piston is only out just for fluid seal inspection
<img src="http://tychl.txf.com/~mshimon/stoptech_rebuild_4">
i put the piston back in and lubed the new seal with a little grease, place it over the piston groove first, then press the seal in uniformly. the seal has a metal liner inside of it.....

voila...all done....the smaller piston on the left is ready for its new dust boot...

Yeah, but I don't know of any material that would have the elasticity to seal and stand up to the
heat generated by track use braking. If someone does, let me know (I could use it on the job...).

I need to do that before next season. My dust boots are starting to look brittle.
I tracked them quite a bit this year, though. Probably just natural wear and tear. I'll just do it when it's time for another brake fluid flush.
