Default K04/16 homebrew times: It works :)

Well, it was a good day. Met Sjslvr6spd there, we talked shop between runs. Real nice guy, just like everyone from AW I've met so-far.

I had a total of three runs, the best of which was 12.345@114.1 The car was very consistent in achieving 114xmph every run. This, is pretty funny since I ran three different boost settings, my quickest time was on my lowest boost setting. All three runs produced the *exact* same peak MAF readings.

Reason for this of course, is that my STOCK INTERCOOLERS are flow limited at about 18# 5000-6500rpm. This figure doesn't change whether I have the boost dialed in to 22.5 at the compressor or 24.5 or my median run of 23.5.

I also ran a guy with a WRX with a JDM Sti engine, FMIC and a whole lot of other mods. He's the 12.6x in the two slips. He was absolutely amazed at how quick my car was, as was everyone else. I had people from the stands seeking my car out to find what the fvck that black Audi had under the hood. lol. That 13.5 was a 'Vette.

I decided to take it easy on the launches, 2800rpm was my launch point. RS4 Clutch gripped heroically. No smell/slip whatsoever. With a hard launch I'd probably have netted a 12.1x or so, but 11's weren't possible with this setup so I didn't push it. Anyhow, nothing bad happened and it ran marvelously otherwise.

Lesson learned: I've absolutely hit the limit of what the stock intercoolers flow. On that note, I came home to an Email from AWE proclaiming another delay in getting my IC's. I responded, depending on their response I may post my correspondence. I'm getting quite annoyed, to say the least.

Anyone with a good deal on RS4's/hoses and such shoot me an Email.

BONUS My updated lemmisettings, Timing is +5.25 for 98 octane, reduced to 3deg for 94 octane.

Default So basically you shaved 0.345 seconds off your 1/4 mile putting the K04/K16's on right?

How much more time do you think the AWE IC's will take off?

Default Congrats! Normally AWE is pretty good about keeping their word,

but I guess the intercoolers are an exception.

Default On the gas, off the gas. Interim between using points in the maps. Kind of a fuel "ramp"

Hope I'm making sense.

My favorite "tuner" quote, now deleted:
"If you had purchased our kit you car would still be a nice 2002 S4 instead of a big pile of blue garbage." Bob@strat. describing BuffaloNogaro's car.

Do tuners lie?

FOD kills.
