Default Well, I guess I could not wax the front, and just tape it. Will the tape harm fresh paint?

Default i don't get it. why do you have to protect it now and not later??

BTW, i've read that ston-gard can not be applied to fresh paint or it messes it up. not sure on the details, but they usually require 2 months of post painting time. sucks, cuz i'm getting a respray for the explicit reason of doing ston-gard.

i'm not sure how this will relate to tape, etc.??

Default Oh, 3000 is a lotta miles. Tape it up-the whole car like a prototype.

Then drive by my house, I'll take a picture, submit it to AutoSpies and claim that your car us a mule for the UBER RSR-4 that'll be out in 2007.

Default I'm driving it across country from PA to CA, I'd like to keep it fresh until I get home...

StoneGuard is just a clearbra right? I don't plan on doing that, just taping it up...

Thanks for the info though!

Default The Blue 3M painter's tape is more than sufficient for guarding against rock chips. I've (more)

used the blue tape every time I drive from Minnesota to Rhode Island (which is 3 times now) and the car came through scratch/chip free.

Here's a pic that I used in my sig a while ago:
