Default Re: Was this a full stage 3 kit then I assume?

They did 2-KO4's, Bi-Pipe, some hoses but not all. New blow offs, full APR exhaust, APR chipped cpu, 4 step shocks with sway bars and other suspension mods.K&N air filter, idler pully, timing belt, and other engine stuff. They seemed like they were being upfront about everything.

Default It has been known on this forum for a long time that a stock tip trans can only handle so much power

Did you buy everything from them? Did they pressure you into anything? I'm asking because I feel it was shady of them to not warn you of a known issue that would cost you more money later on.

Do tuners lie?

Default Tip chip doesn't eliminate hunting at all. That's just plain false advertising on GIAC's part. It

does make the shifts faster, though.

Default It is a noticeable difference though, get it. How a chip helps save the trans.........

as some others have said on here I dont know. But the shifts are faster up and down.

Default Never heard anyone say it would eliminate gear hunting-

The Firth to four downshift that many call gear hunting is a safety feature to limit torque on a tall gear at a very low rpm. The reason this does not happen with stock software or low torque software is that most of the more aggressive software has much more torque in the beginning.

The GIAC tip chip speeds up shifts and increases line pressure. This can minumize slippage and wear on the shifts.
