Default no, but its simple, cheap added protection.

you have the infrastructure built-in...pump/thermoswitch/extra fan/fan control module. might as well use it.

would i rely on it? no...id do the same cool down you are recommending on top of a thermo switch mod. imho.

Default There is one reason no one has done this mod. We are too lazy to find the right thermoswitch

I don't even know where to look for one, but I think it's a great idea.

Default Agreed. If someone posted the part number of an appropriate thermoswitch, I'd be all over it.

Default Existing p/n: 357 919 369F

Switch has a 20mm housing, connects to a 2-pin plug. At 112C the switch closes and completes a circuit to the ECU. The switch sees +12v and very little current (not sure on amount).

The easy part is finding another thermoswitch, the hard part is finding one that fits a 20mm opening since most of those use a 3 to 4 pin sensor. Also, most thermoswitches are M10's no 20mm. The one to replace the current model would best come on around 100 to 105C. Most Audi TS's are set at 110C, some at 118C.

It's one thing to "say" it's easy; it's a whole other ballgame actually doing it.
