...and noticed on the back of the unit (the part that faces forward when mounted to the windsheild) that the translucent red plactic has been slightly marred by the hard case that it comes in.
Has anyone else noticed this on their unit? If so, do you think this impacts the detector's sensitivity? In the manual it says not to mount the detector at the top of the windshield because the tinting up there can significantly reduce the range of the detector. Given this advice, I am thinking that the slight marring of the back of the detector may also reduce the range. what do you guys think? |

It really depends on how bad the flaw is and where the laser receiver is located in the unit (on my 8500 it's on top of the unit, so a flaw down by the "radar window" would be insignificant.
