Default I think AMS should be right about there shortly as well if Josh is seeing

312 at the wheels on 91 octane. And there is another update still in the works. And I think apr has some secrets of their own....

Default i'm confused

isn't the stock "250 hp" taken from the wheels? in other words, according to the information above, shouldn't i multiply that by 1.25 -- i.e., isn't this a (432 - 312 = 120 hp increase, not a 182 hp increase)?

please correct me (politely) if i'm wrong.

Default No, stock 250 hp is at the crank, not the wheels.

Default Actually... its 461hp... you don't multiply it by 1.25, you divide it by .75

since you lose 25% of 100%(crank).

Default Why is everyone calculating driveline loss as a PERCENTAGE of wheel HP???...(m)

The driveline loss is a FIXED number unless you start changing engine/driveline internals or the speed with which the whole setup turns. In the case of a chip or a K04 upgrade none of these parameters change. What i noticed from seeing many S4's dyno on a Dynapack dyno (the same one APR uses) was that a stock car makes about 210whp on 93 octane. If we take the factory spec of 250 on the engine the driveline loss on our cars is something like 40HP. This number doesn't increase with you generating more torque on the motor.

Default Re: What's the correction factor in this dyno?

Hi,

All 4wd car on our dyno get back to stock with 1.25 x wheel numbers.. A 2002 A4 puts down about 137 road HP.. Curry's/AWE/GIAC all use the same dyno parameters for testing to make this multiplier work.

Hi,

That is a completely differnt dyno. It is good dyno, not a full load dyno. Full load (if you run it that high, it is adjustable via S/W).. It will work very differenetly.
Drivetrain loss is done as a multiple. Not a subtractive offset.
