Default Advice needed: Recent purchase of Avus rim from audiworld enthusiast

Folks,
a few weeks ago I purchasd a S4 rim from an audi enthusiast on this site. We spoke a few times on the phone and agreed to a fair price. I was told that rim was in perfect condition but, the tire only had 50% tread left. He said he would ship it with cardboard to protect the front of the rim.

The rim arrived yesterday. The guy from the post office told my wife that he couldn't believe that someone actually put stamps on a rim with no box. As a result, the rim is all scraped and gouged (for obvious reasons). I think my wife was more outraged than I.

Bottom line: I want my $$ back. What would you do?

PS - I have contact this guy via work/cell/email and he won't return my calls. He lives in the Denver area (which I will be visiting on a near term business trip).

Default Unbelievable!!!!

You're doing the right thing, try to get a hold of him and see if you can resolve this issue outside of AW. I'd give him another day or two (maybe i'm too liberal) and if he doesn't respond back, it might be a good idea to reveal who he is on the forum as a warning to others. This may alert people on the forum who knows this guy and may end up contacting him.
