I was doing my "whenever the urge hits me check the F-hose for a tear" inspection, and noticed oil around the area. I'd never had a problem with it before and only checked because of AW induced paranoia
I broke the audi disposo-clamps off and pulled the hose: ![]() Turns out at 54k miles my original F-Hose decided to tear, darn. I had no other solution at hand, and I wasn't going to reinstall a torn hose, so I fired up the trusty 72 Dodge Coronet and went on a search. Came back with some brass fittings and some rubber hose. Tada!: ![]() She's a beaut ain't she? Fixed the slightly rough idle I'd picked up last week in Colorado and added a bit of low rpm pickup. I'm glad I haven't done any high rpm, high boost driving in the last few weeks. |

you should have used black hose though. Very good impromptu repair that may well outlast a factory hose!
Cheers...

We are doing a Mirmar to Florida to Canada to Minot ND to Seattle to Miramar run, so I won't see the internet for a few days but you can e-mail them. It might help me decide between selling the Aston and keeping the S4 and acquiring one of those Ford GT40s they are going to make. I have always loved the design of that car and since the Aston was left to me by an uncle I can't really justify two exotics. Also I really like my S4 Avant although the RS6 Avant is really calling to me. My friend has an RS4 in England which got me on the Audi band wagon. Cheers
