to make your S4 sedan/avant be almost as fast/quick?! and probably equal or better handling?!
Ok, granted that the RS4 does look more aggressive on the outside, and looks more elegant inside. But..c'mon...why drool over RS4?! Difference btwn $75,000+ (RS4) and $42,000 (S4) is a fat $33,000+. With upgrades: chip, exhaust, brake, suspension, short shifter, dps, wheels/tires is less than $10,000. Turbo kit is another $8,000. RS4 body conversion is $9,000. All together, when you put down $75,000, you still get some change. LOL correct me if I'm wrong. But, I'd rather have what I can have "in the U.S." (S4) instead of drooling over something that I can't have...because I know after the upgrades, S4 is...hmm...GOOD ENOUGH!!!

Cost him $25,000 to get EACH one approved by the US officials (including import costs/transport)....
He mentioned to me that he had to get a guy in from Germany to assist with the testing which included locking off the gearbox to make the car run front wheel drive and then rear wheel drive... Why? I don't know, but Jack says that the US doesn't like people importing cars without type approval into the US, and that they support the dealer networks 100% in this.. So - how much for a US RS4? Regards, Ram

and gave it back to Audi. Audi then detuned the engine to 380. RS4 engine is what you want. I hear it is about $15,000.

Second hand prices for RS4's in Germany have dropped dramatically.
See my post after I test drove a RS4 which had been chipped for 420 hp. I am sure glad that I did not get talked in to ordering one last year for $ 67,000 |

You take an engine made for 250hp and push it up to 380hp vs an engine designed for 380hp right out of the box. Which do you think has better reliablity?
We are hitting the ceiling for the S4 engine at 400hp. Even with bigger turbos, I figure mid 400s. That is almost doubling the output. The RS4 engine is already sitting pretty high, a slight bump to 450 is only about a 20% increase. Plus, nice recaros, air leather or alcantra steering wheel and shift knob. Bigger brakes(?)
