Default Have someone drive next to you and take a picture of the wheel while spinning.

It looks sick!! especially in red.

Default Here are my helpful hints for all to see. (I emailed you personally as well)

ok the secret to painting your calipers is cleaning them properly and masking everything in the area that you dont want paint on.

i used the foliatec brake paint kit. it comes with the paint, and a spray cleaner that works pretty well.

i used simple green, CLR and the spray cleaner to get the calipers as clean as possible. i scrubbed with a wire brush while rinsing with clean water to wash the scrubbed dust away from the claiper. if you dont constantly rinse, it seems like the stuff just sticks itself back on somehow.

when you mask, make sure that you cover ALL rubber things near the calipers. there are some moving parts and stuff that are covered with little rubber sleeves and you want to make sure you dont paint those accidentally. also, when masking, areas that arent clean will not be easy to mask since the tape will just stick to the dust and dirt and then fall off. so make sure everything is clean!! also, a good way to test out if your surface is clean enough is rub it with a damp paper towel and see if any dirt or brake dust gets on there. if it does, KEEP CLEANING!

make sure you get all the nooks and crannies on the front calipers because dirt likes to hide in there. i had to remask one of the calipers because i started masking and then discovered more dirt. i had to reclean and then remask the caliper. not fun!

when painting (if you use foliatec) make sure you wait a few minutes after mixing the paint to let it thicken up a tad. if you put it on too thin, it will just run everywhere and not leave a decent coat at all. i put 2 coats on the back and 3 on the front. it may look like it is not going to come out smooth, but the foliatec paint is great. it automatically smooths itself out and leaves a nice shiny gloss once it dries. also, make sure you stick your head in the wheel well and look at the caliper from all angles to make sure you didnt miss any spots.

also, dont remove the masking until you are sure that the paint is dry. if you have and parts where there is a lot of paint on the masking connecting to the paint on the caliper, score the seam with a razor first so you dont accidentally peel up paint that is supposed to be on the caliper.

that is all of the wisdom i accumulated while doing this project. i hope this helps!
