Default Installed my 60mm Omori boost gauge in an SPP A-pillar POD! (writeup!)

Ok, I decided to do a full-blown writeup about this...

CLICK THE PICTURE to get the writeup...
Click the image to open in full size.

Default Watch out for sideguard...

If the side airblag ever needs to deploy, you're gonna need a really good plastic surgeon and dentist.

I suppose you'd be able to say your car clocked you....

Best wishes,

Ram

Default Nah, it wont -- when it deploys, the a-pillar cover peels back towards the windshield.

People have tested this (not on purpose ;-)

Default Taner - do they have anything smaller - like 50mm or less?

any particular reason you went with the 60mm? It looks like it was there from the factory but I wish it was as small as the temperature gauges (around 40-45mm or 2") since I have a mute and power button of my r. detector installed right beneath where the boost gauge would have to be installed...

Default If it peels back, as in the edge that "touches" the windshield stays intact...

while the edge at the door opens up, wouldn't the A pillar gauge inhibit that movement due to obstruction of that movement.

For example:

If the A pillar opens like a book cover, where the binding edge is at the windshield, and you put your hand in the middle of the book cover, sort of like how the gauge pod is, then wouldn't it be difficult if not possible to open the book cover fully?
