Default When does everyone switch to summer tires?

Just curious as to when the switch to summers should be made. Thought I had read somewhere here that when the temp is over 50 consistently but cannot find the thread. It's consistently over 50 here in the day, though I'd expect one more cold snap before spring truly arrive. Any help appreciated.

That would be a good rule of thumb but also include "when the threat of snow is gone". You do not want to be caught with summer tires in any snow.

Gary is right. I've switched in the front range here in CO as early as March but I had a SUV I could use if snow was expected - or I could just swap back to snow wheels/tires easily in my garage.

I suspect in NM you are probably pretty close to the time you can comfortably switch unless you are living in the mtns.

Excellent, thanks for the responses. I have a road trip to Vegas in two weeks (through Flagstaff) so I may pull them after the trip.
