My 2007 A4, S-Line 2.0lt TDI constantly changes down a gear until the engines reaches normal operating temperature.
In winter with cold morning starts the problem/issue is worst, in summer the problem disappears. Issue has been with the car since new.
Sometimes my 20 minute drive to the airport early in the morning results in 15 - 20, uncalled for "downshifts". One every 6 - 90seconds. I simply use the paddle shifter to "upshift" again. Speed, or transmission mode dont seem to have any effect.
My Audi dealer seems to think this is normal engine behaviour. I wonder?
