Hi Jason,
Thanks for the pics and article. Just one question, are these pic's impressions? I certainly hope so, I think the A4 in these pictures is ugly. This could also be because of the unusual vision point, just below the A4's windows. To me the heigth of the cabin (the glass greenhouse), compared to the heigth of the body, looks wrong. |

Headlights and tailights will be very different from the A5 as well.

Think the added curves make it look bigger - almost like it got a few genes from the Maserati Quattroporte - less weight ahead of the front wheels much needed, so that's very positive too....

seems strange that they would do something like that. Hatches are considered very sporty in Europe.

I saw that published two places that the Avant would be replaced by the Q5 and I don't buy it for a second. Nobody at Audi would even come close to confirming anything like that for us. Totally different market for those two cars.

While we all know how popular Avants are in Europe, they've never made up that much of the market here in the US. How many new A4 or A6 Avants have you seen on the road?
Why? Americans are not big "station wagon" buyers. We love our big SUV's and now our big CUV's. Avants are considered to family oriented here in the US. Same reason some people will never been seen driving a mini van. Another reason - allotments. Audi retricts the number that come into the US. Why? Because they can sell everyone that they make in Europe and for more money as well. And, of course, the demand here is low. |

I would be very surprised if audi would stop making the A4 avant.
In the Netherlands, over half of all A4's sold are Avants. And the rest of Europe this figure is more or less the same I guess. |
