Default diesel in North America

With all the engine choices in the Audi garage, why will they not extend the TDI choices to the Q7. I own an Allroad now and would love the option.

Default It will be coming; you just have to be patient for about another 2 years at least.

It has to do with new gasolines to be introduced in the States and new emissions.
Audi confirmed that diesel will be coming in the Q7 and the A6.

Default Hybrid is still a few years away.

Still pretty expensive and not tested yet for long term I'm sure.
Diesel will be out next year in Europe and lot cheaper to make.
We'll see.

Default Diesel is soon the #1 choice in europe...

Some european countries has as much as 70% diesel share for new cars already, the average for Europe is close to 50%.

Hybrids doesn't really make a lot of sense yet, they are more expensive and polluting to produce, and more expensive to maintain. They give slightly more top end power, but similar torque as a TDi. Consumption is higher for hybrid too.

Raising fuel prices in the US will probably accelerate demand for diesels, way before hybrids will be mainstream (if they ever will).

The Q7 will have the 3.0 V6 TDi at launch over here, with V8 TDi coming shortly after. I will be suprised if AoA won't have a TDi Q7 available for you within 12 months after initial US launch.

Default Hopefully, the A6 will also get the TDI V8

Or better yet, a twin TDI V8.
