Hope things run well now - you deserve it after all the issues you've had with that car.
(Does Philip know how much repair work you've had to do since you bought it?) Also, on a seperate subject, how many miles do you have on those tires now - are you happy with them? What about snow grip?

I'm hoping it has something to do with what FNA did during the rebuild. They told me they upgrade the tranny and torque converter. I'll have to drive it some more to be sure. This could be delusion based on repair :-).
Besides the tranny I feel the car has been ok. All the other repairs were typical. However if I had to do it over I wouldn't have bought an early model '01 tip. FWIW the tranny shop suspects by waiting to get the torque converter fixed caused the tranny issue. Who knows. I have 25K on the tires and they are holding up well. They are very good in dry and rain, average in the snow. I'd say typical allseason. I think you would have to go with the Nokian WR's to get good snow traction out of an allseason tire. I would pass on them however. I work with a guy who drove on the WR's for many years and couldn't stand the road noise. He just switched to the Falkens. |

If they modified the valve body then the shift (TIP) lag could be reduced. If the battery was disconnected or the TCU rebooted it could just be the DSP learning... it typically starts agressive and tames up a bit.
Now if we could figure out how to kill BTL we would be in business! |
