Default S5 VAG COM settings for voice activated telephone and remove seatbelt chime...

So after some experimenting with FinallyS5's car last weekend, we have confirmed with Roswell'S5 car that these settings indeed work. For your reference, here are some screen prints from today's coding session with Roswell'S5.

First connect the VAG COM cable to the car, which is tucked WAY up above the deal pedal...I've hooked up the VAG COM to scores of cars, and this was by far the MOST difficult to access of all VAG products. Dash is so deep, and Audi did not bring the connector forward enough.

Activating the voice command button

Once hooked up and connected to your laptop, turn the car to the accessory position (engine does not need to be running) and open the VAG COM program (I used beta version 711.0).

Select the Electronics 1 tab, 2nd from the right:

Open module 77-Telephone (middle of 3rd column):

When the controller is open, you will see the default code set at 0010900 which is the factory setting, with voice control OFF. Chose Coding-07 to open the recoding window:

The coding window should have a nice reference "bubble" for codes:

The 2nd to last digit should be changed from 0 (Voice Control OFF) to 7 (English (USA)), so we changed from 0010900 to 0010970:

Once you have changed the code, click "Do It!" and you will receive confirmation that the code was accepted. Close this controller. You are done. It took a few restarts of the car (and systems) before the voice button on the steering wheel activated. Folkie mentioned in an earlier post that you can go into the CAN Gateway, select "Installation List" and click "Save" and it should work, but we tried and it did not immediately activate.

Deactivating the seatbelt chime

From the VAG COM Common tab screen, select Instruments - 17:

Click Coding -07:

The instruments have long coding, which requires you to open the long coding helper instead of a bubble window for reference. Click on the Long Coding Helper button:

You'll see a check box that shows that the seatbelt warning is active.

Click on the check mark to remove it, the click "Transfer Coding:

You'll see the long coding transfeered to the New coding window ("8B" changed to "83")

Click Do It! and youll see the coding was accepted:

Your are now seatbelt chime free, but for goodness sakes WEAR YOUR SEATBELTS!!!

Default can you take a pic of the connector under the dash?

would make this the perfect manual.

I just wish I could remove the 130mph limiter (if it is real) using this!!!
