Many saw the Euro Code dyno plots for a stock car. But what happens if we combine the test pipe with Revo Stage II software and Vibrant exhaust? Good things happen! This car is finally coming around in terms of power! How does an additional 61 ft-lbs. of torque and 47 hp sound on top of the power already generated by a chipped car? Would I prefer to see 61 hp and 47 ft-lbs. of torque instead, sure, but I will take what I can.
![]() Stage I - Revo Stage I flash running stock settings and 92 Octane Stage II - Revo Stage I flash running stock settings, 92 Octane and Vibrant exhaust Stage II+ - Revo Stage II flash running stock settings, 92 Octane, Vibrant Exhaust, and EuroCode Test Pipe. Basically you are looking at 290 hp, and 350 ft-lbs. of torque on 92 Octane. And that was without any additional tuning offered by the Revo software. (If there are any modified cars in Seattle putting down similar power, or chipped S4s for that matter - I would love to do a friendly highway run.) Sound has improved as well. The car has the typical swoosh delivered by the non restricted turbo, very nice! Volume has increased, though my wife has still not noticed, so not VERY loud by any means. ![]() Installing the test pipe is a 90 minute job (at most). I can envision doing this mod between dealer service visits or smog checks. ![]() Do I recommend this upgrade? ABSOLUTELY, this is by far the largest bang for the dollar in the hardware category. I could even recommend this pipe with stock exhausts and stock software. We will be offering these downpipes ceramically coated in near future. Right now you can get them uncoated, but I strongly recommend coating it to further reduce under hood temperatures. 290 hp and 350 ft-lbs of torque! The car is coming around. KO4 will be a great upgrade as the KO3, although powerful down low still runs out of air up top. Little more on the dyno test Mustang dyno, running 92 octane. I used 1.28 wheel to crank correction factor. (Pictures were unmolested - I left the wheel numbers on the dyno picture.) Temperature was in low 80's during the testing. ![]() Finally sound clips (Test Pipe and Vibrant): Please Save As |

OEM design has rear hangers in sliders so tip position right to left is simple. Tips can also be raised or lowered via one nut. I am going to raise mine in the afternoon - after I wash my car.
I also forgot to mention, Vibrant has got to be at least 20 lbs. lighter. OEM exhaust is heavy and bulky - so hard to weigh - I did not. But you will see. |

as I have not heard the APR exhaust. Vibrant as it is an OEM accessory had to pass numerous European laws... so it is rather muted. Comparable to Milltek.
Now, with the Test Pipe - it gets little louder. |

Look at the dyno... torque is peaky! This is no KO4 B5 S4 by any means.
I am still looking for a chipped B5 to run, just to compare. I like the car, but it runs out of breath quickly! Also test pipe.. well not very legal. Just keep this in mind. |

The RS6 is going back (end of lease/warranty) and they want WAY too much in the way of payment for the S8, almost twice as much as my RS6 which is only 7k less then the S8?!?!
So until something else comes out I figured I would play with the B7 A4.... plus I really like the looks of the car, especially with the DTM kit. ![]() I will be getting the STaSIS Challenge package. Fun Stuff :^) The car is lighter then the S4 and can be made to be as almost as fast... with KO4 forsure. Plus the Volk forged wheels are like 15lbs each so there is huge weight savings there along with new brakes and suspension bits. Should be a fun package.
