Thanks to MC Hammered's search for better LED city light solutions, I went ahead and spent 10 GBP for a pair of these 1W LED's.
![]() ![]() As you can see these have proper H6W bases, so there's no need to file down one of the pins to fit them into the citylight socket. Here's a comparison shot (albeit poor) between the OEM halogen bulb and the new LED. ![]() The light is unsurprisingly not a point source like the halogen, so that the reflector doesn't really get filled all that well. However, these LED's give out about the same amount of light as the halogens. As well, as I've accidentally found out, they do not require load equalizers! A final close up shot:
