can anyone tell me the best places to find engine hardware for the MC engines (Head bolts, piston rings, head gaskets, ect) both high performance and ELcheapo stock?

Default I have rings for the MC. Most stuff can be found online (bimmerparts.com, importec.com)

factory rod bolts and nuts are only at the dealer.

What sort of boost will you be running? Stock, chip, a whole heck of a lot more (EFI)? The AAN's head gasket is all metal and a direct replacement. Holds a LOT of boost even with factory head bolts.

Default Parts online - some select site reviews

lots of URLs. I've used www.germanautoparts.com, Blau (helpful if you have questions, not the cheapest - but have packages, tools and specialty parts @ www.audiquattroparts.com, Rod at www.thepartsconnection.com is helpful too - check for their specials. www.autohausaz.com have very good prices as does www.europeanautomotive.com. For high performance parts, check out www.eurospecsport.com - but put your credit cards in a safe place while shopping their site... Many sites use the same parts distributor and catalog software - so if you don't see a part online, give them a call. If you are not sure of the required part numbers try the url below or see the parts connection site... If you want used parts, try www.force5auto.com
