CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON...

I have an 99.5'A41.8T. I installed the HKS intake system, APR chip, and TurboXS BPV. After I installed the intake my check engine went on. I got a The vag-com software and ran it and cleared the light. It obviously went on again! Is there a way to keep it off. Is there a way to reprogram the ecu to know that there is more air coming in? Is there a way to adjust the air/fuel ratio?

What code came up when you scanned the codes? You have a problem, which needs to be addressed...but we have NO idea what the problem is, unless you give us the code (or search the archives to find out for yourself).

From what I've seen & heard, the larger intake can change the flow of air through the MAF enough to upset the reading significantly.

Also, the oil used in aftermarket intake filters(K&N, HKS, etc.) can get pulled in with the air, get onto the heated portion of the MAF sensor, and burn onto it, causing the obvious problems.

There's got to be a solution though, otherwise why would they sell it?

Might be jumping to conclusions, what's the DTC's?

removed it from the airbox and installed it in the HKS assembly. The wires running up to the MAS are very delicate and don't tolerate flexing very well. Make sure they are well supported, have sufficent strain relief and are well tied down.

This is a stab in the dark, of course, but on my 99.5 1.8T quattro the dealer replaced it after I complained about the CEL coming on and losing a bit of power momentarily. This was at about 50K mi.

The wires running up to the MAS are very delicate and don't tolerate flexing very well. Make sure they are well supported, have sufficent strain relief and are well tied down. __________________
