Default I'm with ya. Plus most reviews are siding with the X5 4.6is anyway.

Default No offense taken and you're entitled to your opinion...

but the "S" in SUV stands for Sports. These SUVs..not station wagons.. will lift the bar to the point where the other manufacturers will have to do something special to compete. And that can only be a good thing. Whether or not you like the look of the vehicle is a purely subjective thing...surprisingly enough a lot of people don't like the look of the TT either.

Default Please spit it out....tell us how you *really* feel....

Had the same thoughts myself, Michael. ;-) DOA. Gonna be tough to get development and tooling costs out of it probably.

Default It's a long term investment that keeps the marque alive...

... true, it was a Board of Director decision - but 996s do not generate enough profit alone to float the boat, one reason for the 986. It was ironic to read Harm Lagaay (necessarily) defending it when talking about it's development in a recent magazine. Let's just say their true feelings were close to yours. Last dealer report I heard, Cayenne orders at only a tenth of the 986.

Default What is really interesting is the Audi Pikes Pike will dump the fancy AWD stuff in favor of Torsen

quattro and become more of a soft-roader. It will be lighter and larger than both the Cayenne and the Touareg. If anyone should have built something like that you'd have thought it would have been Porsche.........

Default But it's ok in a Porsche ? Odd logic to chastize one and not the other

Default I hate the concept also...but, bear in mind that Porsche actually make

military 4x4 vehicles as well as airportable tanks...and such...their knowledge might suprise us...as for me though...Its like seeing Ferrari make a minivan...sacrilige!
