My Passport Solo radar detector just saved me big time...
A couple of days ago, I was driving in a residential area, approaching a sweeping curve. These streets are the kind of wide, winding types that we like.
As I approached the curve, my Solo lit up like a son of a gun. I slowed and sure enough there was a motorcycle officer standing there with a radar gun. I wasn't really flying, but without the detector I would have been toast. Also, had he not clocked someone ahead of me, I probably would have still gotten nailed, detector or not, as with instant on radar there would have been no signal until he pushed the switch to turn it on.
