Default Powerball mayhem. Greenwich, CT where I work has shut down sales of tickets as the

town is overrun with people from NJ and NY travelling to town to buy Powerball tickets. Traffic jams you can't believe...lines up and down every sidewalk, parents locking small children in their cars while they stand in the pouring rain for tickets....total madness. The only bad part is now that Greenwich is shutting down machines they'll hit Stamford and then my town. Stopped at the grocery store in my town tonight and there were at least 60 people in line to buy tickets....damn, I probably won't be able to buy my big $1.00 worth...I figure one dollar is good enough. If it's your lucky day; it's just gonna be that way whether you buy one or forty tickets...can't wait til this is over on Saturday night....traffic on 95 was bumper-to-bumper...usual 20 minute ride home was one hour tonight...

Default The news this evening reported lines of 500-600 people waiting to buy tickets.

Default First one...I won't wait for a ticket if there are more than 2 people in line, much less 100's :-)

Default Talk about a cultural dichotomy on Greenwich Ave.! It's a riot seeing

the horror on the faces of the locals as the vast unwashed pours into town. Come on up to Fairfield, Den, a bought $10.00 of quick picks and was the only one the gas station. I rode home on a Metro North that stopped in Greenwich yesterday and it was packed. Somehow I don't think these folks were headed up to White Birch for a polo match
