Default 225/180 engine pics for comparisons as they relate to 2nd intercooler on 180...

The best laid plans of mice and men...

Due to throttle-body/induction manifold being swapped left to right from the 180 to the 225 this is going to be a plumbers nightmare getting the second intercooler in a 180 without a gaggle of hoses and elbows and clearance probs. Doncha jus HATE it when this happens! Its certainly 'doable'... just not 'cleanly.' You've got to get to the outlet side of the turbo from the left side (as you face the engine) and with a throttle-body on the left side also, you have to do a switch-back somewhere. First thought that jumps into my mind is IF the induction rail is swappable end-for end in the X-axis. Throttle bodies dont mind if they run upside down and if the individual runners are on a 90 degree + or - a smidge angle to the plenum, then that might be just the answer. If thats so this should be "cake", relatively speaking. Anybody else have a clue in looking at these two pics. Two heads/four eyes and up are better than one.

Default they allow for a cooler/denser charge of air to enter the engine... cooler= more power

Default So they cool air/fuel mix only? What about that poor turbo, does anything cool it?

Default more accurately they cool the air and cooler air cools/mixes with atomized fuel. Turbo must take...

its cooling however it can find it. Some use water passages and circulate water around their bearings while others are like most motorclycles and old beetles... air cooled.

Default Actually, not cooler- cooler=dense air, denser air=more fuel, more fuel=more power, air fuel ratio.

Default Audi stands behind it for 50k miles. Good synthetic oils helps, but it is a high-revving piece.
