I'm thinking of using the A8 this winter for going skiing instead of the A6 Wagon. Since it doesn't have the cargo rail as the A6, which brands that would fit the A8 well without scratching or damaging the doors?
Thanks,

I haven't checked, dont us early A8s have the little pop up things that u attach the racks to? They are flush with roof, until u pop em up. They are pinky size.

but you can notice an increase in interior noise with it on. They make clamps that are custom fitted to the contours of the A8 door and they work as well as any I've seen. Unfortunately, the ski sack can only carry 2 pairs of skis (my race skis have very tall bindings on them, and I can barly fit two pair in there!) and the car can carry 4 people and their gear comfortably. Gotta get a rack!!!

Are you carrying four or five people?

and the Q72 Q-Clips. I have an earlier version of the LiftTicket 6 ski carrier, and a couple of Viper bike carriers. Get the locks for it too, so the rack doesn't disappear on you.

I've had the Thule Aero(?) rack on a few cars. Each new car requires a different attach kit, custom fitted for the vehicle. The attach kit for the D2 A8 is #238. Good luck with your choice!
