How long after drop-off until US delivery?
How long does it take after you drop off the car in Germany before you get it in the US (East coast). Any recent experience? Anybody really waited the 'official' 11-13 weeks?..
(Thinking about Q5 ED next spring/summer)
If anybody can recommend a sales person at Schneider+Nelson in W Long Branch NJ - would be appreciated.

It all depends!
if no damage to the car average -
Est coast - 1 month
West coast - 2 month
I remember case where est coast customer was waiting for 2 1/2 month.
I remember case when more then 370 new M3 was damaged in New York port. First shipment of E90/E92 M3
And of course I remember case, when ship go down with 3000 new BMW

I can only speak from my experience. Yes I had to write them a "deposit" VAT check, which was never cashed. This is to insure you drop off your car to be shipped to the USA within a set amount of time. Because if you do not, that's when you lose your deposit. This sounds pretty consistent where dealerships simply hold the check as a deposit from what I've read, but I thought I read at least one instance where the dealership cashed the check first and reimbursed the amount later.
