Default Radar detector options

I started researching options for my S7 since it's so tough to keep this car under 80 mph on the highway....
I noticed many on this forum like the V1, which does NOT have the best reviews from many of the gurus and web sites that review the newest systems unless you do a lot of long highway trips. From what I am reading the best hard wired installed system is the Beltronics stir plus with the Escort 9500ci second. They don't love the laser jammers that come with the escort package and recommend the Blinder 905 laser jammers to go with the Beltronics Stir plus system (Which doesn't come with any laser jammers). Both the beltronics and escort have the new red light and speed cameras on the database and can be updated with a laptop (PC only) with Internet access.
Then the issue is how many laser jammers you need as Blinder sells their set up with 2,3 or 4 jammers depending on where you want to position them. They say at least 2 needed for the front on each side of the headlights and near the license plate.. But I rigged my front plate much lower than the level of the headlights so it's not anywhere near the lights. Blinder also has updating ability via the Internet.
Obviously these type set ups aren't cheap.. The combo set up probably about 2K with install.
Amy input would be appreciated for those who might have installed a system!

Bought a new 2014 S7
estoril blue with luna grey seats
Good looking
Got rid of my Valentine and got an Escort Passport Max.
The Valentine fits f=great in my Lexus so i did not think Escprt would be a problem but different cars.
The PassPort Max is placed where i cannot fold down my sun visor..only half way. If I move it to the right, it blocks sunglass holder. Want it high and out of the way. Escort is introducing a holder that attaches to rear view mirror...they want 90 bucks though.
will buy when they go on sale because I will hotwire it and it will be clean looking
I bought The Passport Max because of the red light camera feature which I think is becoming more prevalent. However, I still use WAZE too on long trips...offering valuable info on cops, red light cameras, traffic jams etc

I am giving up on Passport Max since it cannot fit neatly over rear view mirror. Leaning toward Beltronics Sti-R Plus and even found a source @ 859. Thought they sold for almost $1200. Any way i can confirm that Beltronics being sold is newest version. Serial # or some other identifying factor.
Then need to find jammer that is also reasonable. Laser Interceptor or ???
Any ideas, let me know

I have also been looking at the Beltronics stir plus. Where did you find it for that low a price? I think I'm leaning towards the Blinder 905 compact laser jammers.., just not sure if I should get the dual or triple pack as they are NOT cheap.. Any thoughts on whether the rear laser jammer is worth adding.. It adds to the cost and much more labor to install. This combination seems to be the clear best rated set up of all the installed versions out there now. The small style of jammers will fit in the S7 front grill whereas those that come with the escort 9500ci are too big as well as being rated as mediocre laser jamming effectiveness.
Let me know what you decide!

Yeah, the Jammers that come with the package are very basic..... will end up costing you a TON of money as you'll "think" you're safe on from Laser but will not be. It's not really worth saving $1k on a cheaper system to have your car impounded for dangerous driving (Yes, they can do that in 40kph/25mph over in Canada.... ugh)

Buy the Laser Interceptor High Power Quad system and enjoy peace of mind

Cliff not only came through with specific mounting locations for the LI heads on the S7, but he did offer a great package price for the LI Quad and Bel Stir, though I used the radardetectorforum.com member buy.

Thanks again for the tip.
