100,000 Mile Dealer Service Costs?

Default 100,000 Mile Dealer Service Costs?

I have a 2006 A4 2.0MT with 99750 on the car. I am just curious if anyone has had the 100,000 mile service and what the associated costs were when taking back to an Audi Dealer. Is this when the Timing Belt and Water Pump are changed?

Hi Jeff. I have a 2007 A4/B7 2.0T Tip with 37,500 miles, so needless to say I personally don't know the associated costs relating to the 100,000 mile scheduled maintenance work. However, I did want to let you see the Supplemental maintenance information Audi sent me.

They say 110,000 miles is when the timing belt and related parts should be changed. As a rule, the water pump is done at the same time. You are very close to this and most people would probably have had this work done a bit earlier even. The last thing you want/need is for it to go and then you'd be looking at major engine damage together with a major $$$ repair bill. I have seen some threads on AW where the repair costs were between $4,000 to $6,000, and more likely closer to the high end.

As for changing the timing belt and other stuff already mentioned above, again, I have seen threads on AW where people were looking at between $1,600 and $2,400. Smaller shops can probably do it for less compared to an Audi dealer, or if you are pretty good mechanically there are some very detailed threads showing a DIY. I'm sure you won't have problems finding some of these informative threads.

Now the above timing belt work-related costs would be over and above the regular maintenance costs at the 100,000 mile mark. So you will be spending some big bucks, but don't delay too much longer or you'll be breaking your piggy bank to fund the extra costs.

Garry, I am at 73k on my '06. Saving for timing belt, water pump replacement. $1040 was the quote w/oil change I was given. I guess not bad, that price is for the timing belt kit not just the belt. I would rather have new wheels but if the car is broke then wheels won't do much good I guess.

I thought they changed the timing belt service to 70 or 80k. Either way let the dealer do the kit. My buddy took his a4 to a foreign repair shop and he ended up with many issues afterwards and had to get it to the dealer to redo the timing belt. He claimed the car was never the same and sold it.

As stated, you DO NOT want to let this go. A local woman recently had her belt break at 89k and had to buy a new engine.
