Which S6? 2008 with 21K or 2011 with 61K
Hey Guys
I'm in the market for a C6 S6 and I have 2 I'm about to make a decision on.
What I wanted to know from you guys is which one you would get.
Both are black on black. Both are mint looking with regular service performed.
The 2008 has only 21K miles
The 2011 has almost 61K miles.
The difference in price is $3K (2011 being the more expensive)
I love both. Only thing I like more about the 2011 is the rear taillights, although I like the 2008 wheels better.
Other than that the cars are identical.
I'm leaning towards the 2008, but wanted to know your thoughts.
Thanks in advance!

Perhaps, the warranty status on both should be a factor in your decision.
Try to understand why the 2008 has not been driven much.
Other than that, you can't go wrong with either assuming dealer serviced with history. Like you said, No changes made in 2011 other than rear lamps.
Or....you can buy my black 2007 S6 with 88K miles!

The 08 was a "commercial" vehicle. Meaning some dude registered it through his company and used it to take clients out to lunch. Either that or his commute to and from the office was 10 miles round trip.
The 2011 doesn't have any maintenance history in the Carfax report which I didn't even notice until now. The boner for a 2011 in my price range got in the way :P

Carfax isn't the best source of maintenance history. Give your dealership the VIN and they can see if it was serviced by Audi.

It's a good place to start.
As the 08 has full history with maintenance records.

Thanks everyone!
I ended up going with the 2011 and bought the Audi Pure extended warranty Gold (mid level) for an extra $3800. The 2008 with 21K miles would have cost me $2900 for 4 years with the gold plus version, but whatever.
The 2011 looked too good (especially from the back) to pass up. Sometimes you just gotta say F#*K it and go for it.
I'll post pics when I get it. Being put on the transport truck to NY from Cali tomorrow

Finally came on Tuesday from Cali to NY. I put her on the road yesterday and after less than 2 days of driving this thing I have to say...
OMFG this car is AMAZING!!!!
I've had some cool cars in my day, but this is one is by far the best.
Looks totally bad ***, so comfortable. The seat hugs you.
Drives like a dream. So smooth. I don't know why I've seen people complain about it having a bumpy ride. It's a ultra high performance sports sedan. I think it rides great.
And it's fast as ****. Not so much in regular drive but more than enough power to do what you gotta do.
But in Sport mode it is scary fast and it doesnt feel like it until you look down and you're doing 90 within seconds lol.
Gas mileage is surprisingly better than I thought it would be.
On a 15 mile trip doing about 65, got 19.1 MPG
On the 15 mile trip back doing about 75-80 got 18.6.
However driving around town was more like 15+ which is still more than my 2014 Q7 Prestige. Although the Q gets in the 20s on the highway if you drive it long enough.
Anyone thinking about getting one, do not hesitate. But do your due diligence.
My advice would be to try your best to follow these guidelines:
1. Only buy from an Audi Dealer (they usually get the cherries)
2. Only buy one with one owner (maybe 2)
3. Although Carfax isn't the end all be all, make sure it has service records on the report. The more the better.
4. If the right one makes itself available, don't hesitate bc someone else will ****** it from you. (happened to me twice).
5. If there was 2 owners listed on carfax and the 2nd owner only had it for a year, don't buy it bc chances are they got rid of it bc they kept having problems.
Weather has been crappy. I washed it yesterday and the soap and water froze on the car. So when it warms up and I can give it a good once over, I'll post some pics for sure
