hole in supercharger cooler tank.. yikes
Long story short, ended up in Atlantic City last week just a short road trip for some gambling and fun, spent one night there and valet parked my car, came out the next morning to head home, fired up my car after valet brought it around and I get a warning light instantly telling me to check the coolant levels, after opening the hood sure as hell my coolant tank was empty, baffled and confused i filed a claim with the hotel casino i stayed in.
This is thanksgiving morning mind you, after calling Audi roadside luckily there was an Audi dealership close, unfortunately no one was open till Friday. After a long morning the casino comped us a room for the night and we stayed another night.
Finally had the car towed in Friday morning and the dealership is showing me a hole in the supercharger cooler tank, bottom line its gonna cost me $1330. Now I am no savvy car expert and I am currently following up on my claim with the casino as well, but lets just say this is something that happened on my drive down to A.C., is $1300 bucks reasonable for that part and the cost to switch it out? Just seemed a little steep but I could be wrong, again I am no mechanic and for all I know I am getting a good deal.
Thanks again I appreciate any input, also lets hope the casino finds one of the drivers took it out for a spin, this way I can recoup it and maybe then some.

Are you referncing the radiator/heat exchanger in the front of the car? If so then NO that is not a fair price... Should be a little more than half that with labor... Again, assuming we are talking about the HE... It probably happened on the ride down I doubt it happened while parked unless they took your car for a joy ride? That's why I always park myself... Hopefully, they cover it for you...

I'm just going by what they told me, they said its the cooler for the supercharger, kinda its own separate radiator for the supercharger is how hes explaining it to me. So not really sure what that is, a mechanic might as well be speaking french to me cause I don't understand any of it.

Yeah that is what I was referring to... That price is way high... Also, if I were you I would have the protection screen installed while they have the car in service mode so this doesn't happen again, since it is common on these cars... Heck the APR HE is only $989 on sale right now... Also, make sure they re-pressurize the system when doing the swap which they should... Just keep an eye on your coolant levels for the month or so following... Sometimes air gets in the system and you'll need to add coolant thus why they pressurize the system...
