Default a8 miles per gallon

I did a search but came up empty handed. I'm wondering how many miles per gallon you guys are getting with your A8s, particularly in the 2004-2006 range. How do you do city vs highway? My "city" is pretty open with 45mph speed limits

Count on 15 mpg and be happy if you get more.

14-17 in the city for me. 19-26 on the highway. Usually 21-22 on the highway.

I got 27 and 28 miles per gallon on two recent trips to Colorado (2006 A8 L) with mixed highway and interstate driving. Each trip was about 500 miles long.

I get about 22-23 mpg highway (doing 80 mph) and about 8-10 mpg city. Yes, the city mileage is low but I have a hell of a lot of fun and drive it like I stole it! I prefer to count my mileage as "Smiles per Mile" and that is priceless.

P.S. If you are even remotely concerned about mileage, a full size luxury car with a large displacement engine should not be on your list. You will never be happy with it. My next A8 or S8 will only have the V10 or W12. I'll pass everything but a gas pump.

I have a v8 bimmer that is surprisingly frugal at around 17 city, and 27 highway despite being rated for much lower. I don't drive a ton though, so mileage doesn't hurt too bad, but I might soon be making a 200 mile round trip weekly to visit the girlfriend. I'm fairly gentle with the fun pedal, and it's gentle towards my wallet. It helps that my definition of city isn't stop and go too. What's the best you can get out of the v8?

I average about 21mpg, but most of my driving is in the highway. Around the city, it's not that good...maybe 14-15mpg. But, it's a great car and a great ride! When you need the power, it's there! 05 A8L

I average right about 20 with my mix of city and highway driving. I've seen as high as 25-26 on the highway on long trips, and around town it can be as bad as low teens.

If you're looking for economy, you're in the wrong league of cars (the diesel being the exception here, that we can't get in the states).
