I think it's time to do something for the wonderful D3 with 12k miles trouble free. The spark plugs were replaced @ 55k miles and the oil changed was at 72k miles. The car now has 85.3k miles.
I like iridium and they're on sale on Amazon for $7.09 a piece, just ordered 8 of them and the oil suction machine for oil change.
I'll post something when it's done.

Since the oil filter is accessed from the top, no use to remove thousands of screws to get the engine guard out, crawl and get messy. I haven't tried the suction method yet, but the idea sounds great and PaulW did it on his S8, although it was a different one.

You are right about oil change method. I am just not sure about that all manual pump. Could be quite hard exercise. I use one powered by compressed air (need a compressor too) and sucking 8 liters of oil lasts quite a bit.

I have that same oil extractor. I use it for oil changes on the SeaRay (boat).

It still works after many years of use, but it is slow. You will want to run the engine for a minute to warm up the oil and speed up the flow.

It's probably the type of thing you would want to do every 2nd oil change. I suspect you will get more sludge out of the oil pan with the traditional method (but I don't know much about Audi's..not even oil changes).

I looked at the MityVac but ended up going with the Astro Pneumatic 7341 Manual and Pneumatic Fluid Extractor. Best of both worlds because you can use it with the pump of hook it up to the air compressor. I used it this past weekend for an oil change, brake flush and power steering flush. Worked great!

of the oil. I didn't see the manual and pneumatic combo like Krazz mentioned. Well, once a year to change the oil and have some exercise is OK, I think.

i have that same pump (mityvac). no issues at all. while it is sucking out the oil, you are busy doing other things. total time sucking was about 20 minutes, had to stop once to dump as the engine pan holds more than the pump can extract in one go.

It's super simple to use....you pump it like 5 or 6 times, and then just work on something else. It takes about 15 minutes to suck all the oil out of the S8.
