I had been looking to downsize my wheels from the 20s with P-Zeros to 19s; for a slightly smoother ride and better all-season handling. I just thought I’d share my experience with those that may be considering the same. I love the look and performance from the 20’s with the summer performance P-Zeros, but let’s face it – it’s a rough riding set up. I ultimately decided I wanted to stay with OEM equipment and I didn’t want to stray to far from the current fitment. I ended up going with the S-Line wheels from the S4 (B8 I think), affectionately known as “Peelers”. Got a good deal on takeoffs. It was a great fit since the existing 20’s had an offset of 45 and the Peelers had an offset of 43. This pushed the wheel outward 2mm, which is unnoticeable. Keep in mind that the Peelers from the A5 have an offset of 32. I wrapped the wheels in ContiProContacts; another good deal on takeoffs with 400 miles on them. I decided to up the aspect ratio to fill the wheel well and ease the ride some more. The P-Zeros were 255/35R20 and the Conti’s are 255/40R19. It’s a completely different ride; very smooth and much quieter. I think it’s a good look too. Not as aggressive as the 20’s but spokes are fairly timeless. I’ve included a couple pics for anyone curious what the A6 looks like with the Peelers. When I was researching this swap, I couldn’t find a pic of an A6 with Peelers anywhere. Oh, and I will be holding on to the 20’s to get my performance fix in the Spring/Summer timeframe.

I like this wheel design very much. How much do I expect to pay for set of 4 used?

Thanks Coupe. I like them. It's a clean and simple look which emphasizes the "luxury" in luxury sport sedan. The 20's definitely emphasize the "sport" side of it.

I got the wheels for $1000 shipped. They had a couple thousand miles on them but no curb rash - very good condition. I got the tires from another Audi enthusiast. They were takeoffs with 400 miles on them and I paid about $600 shipped. I decided to have Audi mount and balance them to ensure the fit was clean; another $125. Add in $25 for after market center caps, $50 for OEM lug covers (the 20's have an octopus centercap that covers the lugs), and I was in the new set-up for $1800 total.

Look great...but as someone who had the peelers on my B8 S4: they are a pain to clean. The gap in between "blades" is so small, nothing fits in between. Get some Armor All wheel protectant on there soon to help yourself out!

I laugh when people say the 20s are a smooth ride and hardly noticiable difference from stock. They are full of crap

Actually FWIW, the 255/40R19 is the A6 OEM size for 19" wheels and has the same overall circumference and section width as the 255/35R20 - size-wise, only the tire sidewall height is different. (If the two were different in overall circumference, it would affect your odometer, speedometer and avg mpg DIS readout). So, unless you modify the suspension, the wheel to fender gap and fender fill would be the same on either of the two wheel/tire combinations. Also, the slight 2mm offset difference (less than 1/10") between the two wheels wouldn't be a noticeable factor re the fender gap appearance.

Thank you for the honest opinion. In fact, i was thinking to get a set of 20" wheels (from 18"). Now, I will go for 19" instead although I prefer the look of the 20".
