Default Intro! From E90 M3 to SQ5? wtf

Long time Quattro admirer and first time owner here. I picked up my Phantom Black SQ5 yesterday and it is a stunning vehicle. I had a 2011 M3 sedan that I loved to death but living in the NW with our rain and snow and being an avid skier and mountain biker, it sadly limited my life too much. So bye bye M3 and hello SQ5!

I don't really have any plans for mods but will be getting front Xpel clear bra and front windows tinted to match rears done tomorrow. Then the winter wheels and tires arrive and hopefully I'll be hitting the mountain soon if the damn sun would go away and the snow starts piling up. I'm also going to try to install the OEM hitch myself (without wiring) for a bike rack but that will come later when I feel like dropping $700 for a friggin' hitch mount.

Anyway, on to the pics! I just snapped some quickies near work today.

I've been a long time AW lurker but now I have something to post about. Happy motoring!

Congrats on your new SQ5. Great exterior color choice. :-)

I was shopping the M3 before I decided on the SQ5. I wanted a spots car, but like you I needed something to haul my road/mountain bikes around. The SQ5 lets me enjoy the best of both worlds.

Enjoy!

Many grats on the SQ5 - you have a great-looking machine. I went from an E39 M5 to an FX45 because I needed to haul other stuff than *ss; that transition was tough but the SQ5 is so much better than FX. Steve

Was this car on stock at Sunset Audi. I think I may have sat in it while it was on the showroom floor. Very nice car.

Yup! I drove down from Seattle to get it because availability has been limited. Sunset Audi was awesome to deal with BTW.

Thanks for the welcome and looks like I'm not the only one who values performance and utility. I dropped it off for clear bra and tint this morning and I'm sad I can't drive it until tomorrow night now!

I'm also in an E90 M3.. can you give brief impressions of how much of a dropoff you feel in handling, acceleration and maneuverability? How much bigger does the SQ5 feel?

I'm also willing to bet your gas mileage improves. I'm all too familiar with the M3's "drinking problem".
