Yahoo!! I've passed my NORAC qualifying exams!!-->
after entering the NJ transit Locomotive Engineer Training Program (LETP for short), you have 60 days to study for and pass the NORAC Operating Rules Exams (Northeast Ordinance Advisory Committee). The NORAC rules is approximately 900 of the most difficult to remember rules that I have ever read in my entire life.. You must then take an exam on those operating rules to prove that you are qualified on them. Passing grade is 85%, and the test is broken up into 13 sections, some sections as small as 12 questions. You must score 85% on each section, if not, you must retake the portions that you failed the next day. If you do not pass on the retake, you are sent on your way..
The past two weeks, I've been studying like a mad person, and it paid off.. I passed all 13 sections on the first try, although I did get an 85 on the Form D movement permit section.. (any railroad buffs out there would know what a Form D is)
I know get to move on in the course, and I will be getting a 5% pay raise for being promoted as well.. In the next 3-4 weeks, I'll be making engine moves in the yard, and then start qualifying on the physical characteristics of the Hoboken division...
Wish me luck...
