Default Any DIY formulas for tire shine?

I've been looking for a formula for good homemade tire shine formulas instead of shelling out for overpriced name brand stuff. Anyone know about anything like that?

Default Before Armoral I used brake fluid on my tires

Worked great - I know this will stir up a storm with this posting but think about it.
The piston and brake cylinder seals are rubber. The fluid is designed to work with rubber and to clean up deposits in the caliper piston areas.

Default You are right...

We used that in restoring any rubber trim on an old car as well. You just have to be very carefull as it will strip paint very easily.

I heard brake fluid breaks down the brake pads themselves and wear down quicker.

just through application of brake fluid on the tires.

Default You put it on a rag and wipe the tire with it.

No where near the brake pads. And one does not get the fluid on the wheels as the fluid removes paint
