Default How Many is too Many ( miles ) ???

Ok so have had a few audi's along the way....last one I dumped last fall was a 98 a6 Qttro 2.8. ran great for years but after my son overheated the damn thing ( drove for a day or two without anti-freeze) I never could get it right. I Replaced heads , water pump timing belt bla bla bla......
I am considering a 2001 a6 2.8 Qttro for my last teen driver for $3100. Having a Pre-Purchase inspection done by a reputable shop who just did $2900 worth of work 3K ago. Timing belt, h2o pump, rollers , control arms etc......Car has a stack of maintenance records ( 2 owners) a foot high. He was getting it done for his daughter who decided not to move back and go to college locally.
Car is in silly good shape both in and out. I mean like a 9 plus.
So what say you about the mileage???? Its 225,000 ! yes it's a ton but with the recent work done all I need is about 3 years out of it to get her off to college in.......so maybe another 35 to 50 k possible????
Thanks for any input ! Book, even with the high M. is $7300

Dont be afraid if its been maintained, just had a 99 a6 2.8 in and it had 248k miles, interior was beautiful, body was nice, car drove well except for some suspension rattles. Didnt smoke, engines sounded nice, trans shifted good. Just keep up on oil changes, trans fluid services, and anything that happens to go wrong with the car i could easily see 300k+ out of these cars.

Its usually neglect that kills these cars, they are cheap enough now the bottom feeders so to speak now own them, and are used to driving Toyota Camrys and Ford Taurus and dont expect the repairs on an Audi and just run them into the dirt untill they have so much wrong with them its not worth fixing.

Last year I sold our 99 A6 with 315k miles on it for $2k. It needed a waterpump. Miles mean nothing; condition is everything.

KBB has it at $5400. $7300 seems high but it has had great maintenance. No fear on the mileage at all.

i have a car sitting in storage my son is itching to drive ( just got his beginners ) The reason it is in storage is because i have no room with my Porsche My company vehicle and my wifes car .. couple months the Porsche goes away and the A6 2.8 comes back . I have absolutely no worries about him driving it for the next few years ( or until he prangs it .. ) it hs 400,000km on it and I m not worried in the least. Looks great drives great and is a friggen tank .
