Default Apr or giac?

I have a 2014 Q5 2.0T and was wondering which tune to go with? And if there's one currently out? If not what other mods do you all suggest? New audi owner and not sure what would be good and what to pick. Would really appreciate the input.

Btw, how do I upload pictures using an iPad? I would like to put a pic of my car up but can't figure it out. Dumb dumb here. Lol

Does either tune void the warranty?

OMG.. the last time this topic was brought up, maybe 12 years ago, it ignited one of the biggest flame wars ever recorded on the internet..

It's a gray area. The tune throws a now famous code "TD1"....seems it's up to the dealer and Audi what is or isn't voided conditionally. You'll probably hear allot about it in the thread.
Boys with the b8S4 3.0T supercharged engine have experience with this TD1 flag.

So you wouldn't do any mods?

I have thought about it, but always get scared because someone usually has a voided warranty story.

I know where you are coming from. Have you done any mods?

TD1 is not a "code" that is thrown but it is a status that is flagged to the car when it is scanned during normal dealer service. TD1 just tells Audi that it is a modified car. This will happen if they scan your car during any service visit. It in itself does not void your warranty but if you have a warranty claim and the drivetrain is involved, you will very likely not be covered.

Tuning is an at risk decision. Do not expect any drivetrain components to be covered under warranty if you install an aftermarket tune. That being said, if you go for a tune, you will definitely enjoy a significant power gain. APR generally provides a safe and reliable tune and they get my vote.

I'm too scared. Ha. And, I'm exiting the thread before the flame wars start again. If I really wanted/needed the extra HP I would have just gone with the 3.0 or SQ5.
