Default Drive thru Car wash for convertible ??

Any comments on washing a convertible using a drive thru car wash? I had my 2014 convertible for 1 month and it really does need a wash. I hope I dont have to spend extra cash on hand wash.

You can, but best choose for a non-wax progam, since this can affect the roof material in the long run (depending on the wax type used).

Took the plunge, and stopped by "Premium Car Wash", Essex Rd Metuchen, NJ. I use them for my 01 Audi A4, and 86 MB SL560.

Car looks brand new again

There is a downside to this, and that is that touchless car washes usually spray the water much more powerfully, and as a result, the water gets into the car when the water sprays right at the seal between the window and the soft top.

I did a touchless car wash a year ago and found water in the car after (both sides), so opted not to do that again.

Well, I haven't owned a convertible in years so I suppose that can happen. But having those brushes filled with grime and dirt from yours and a gazillion other dirty cars grinding away on the car's finish and using whatever chemicals these places use, makes me shiver. I guess for a rag top, the solution is to do it yourself (which I do anyway). Using Optimum No Rinse and Shine, I can hand wash my car in about 45 minutes with no hose needed, even in winter, right in my garage.

thanks for suggestions, I wasnt aware of touchless. If I had more time Id hand wash, but I do own 3 cars and 2 jobs and a family, so it has to be a car wash for me.

Maybe stating the obvious but, it might be a good idea to keep the top closed.

I've been taking my vehicles to a local car wash for years, to include my 2 cabs. It is not touchless. Both of my Audi's are black, and there are no signs of any wear and tear on the finish.
