Default Ordered SQ5 with no sunroof

Wentto the dealer today and placed the order. Ice silver, black nappa, MMI, side assist and B&O. The dealer installs wheel locks by default too. It is "complementary". Left all other default options and opted for no sunroof. Probably a bit unorthodox but feels right for me. Got my 6% supplier discount as well. My order is probably the cheapest one around. It was just over 56k before f&t. Now the wait begins.

Congrats.

Any indication as to how long it will take? I'll be ordering mine for a January delivery so I'm trying to figure the best time to place the order.

The dealer put December as an estimate. 3 months in average.

No sunroof? I think you mean "Remove panoramic sunroof" unless you went to Audi Individual, is that what you did? What was the cost for them to build you a special roof?

Yes, I chose to delete panoramic sunroof. In my understanding it will not be removed but rather not built at all. It shold be just a regular solid metal roof.

I'm sure there are SQ5s with Alcantara and 20s and nothing else...true strippers.

You added a few pricey options there...

Congrats though!

Congrats on the order (love the color choices). Hang tough, it'll be worth the wait. Steve

Congrats on the order! It'll be here soon enough... just don't watch the pot while it boils

Seablue - there's no need for special order or Audi Individual to have Audi build one without a pano roof. Delete panoramic roof has always been available for the Q5. For 2014, it's a no-cost option code PFH. Because it will be tougher for resale or to sell to any prospective buyer new without the pano roof, some dealers may require a non-refundable deposit on sold orders with PFH though. YMMV.

The sales guy did go to the manager or something tomaskmif an additional deposit was required. Came back and said that a rwgular $1500 was enough. Those cars are selling like hot cakes and they are confident that lackmof sunroof will not affect anything. The sales guy told me that once in a while there is an order without sunroof. Some people order Q7 like that too. It rains quite a bit in south Florida and the sun is brutal in summer.

When I bought mine in 2011 there were many without sunroofs on dealer lots available in south Florida. I thought I may have to get one there. I did find one in CT and I bought it. My engineering background helped me determine that a Q5 is a better vehicle without such a large hole in the roof. I would have considered a more normal size sunroof if such a thing was available. Lighter, stronger potentially drier is always a good thing. Having a cab and a motorcycle gives me all the open air motoring I need. I really don't think the re-sale value would be changed much higher or lower.
