Default New RS4 owner observations...

Firstly, here is a link to some pics: Mugello RS4

What a weekend! I picked up my car early Saturday morning and barely even got to drive it until late Sunday. Here are a few observations:

1. This V8 is intoxicating! The sound is awesome and I've been surprised at how well it pulls in every gear... (ok, so I haven't been speeding too much :-) )

2. The clutch is surprisingly light, much more so than my 2000 S4, which wasn't particularly heavy.

3. The ride is awesome, nice & firm, yet compliant. Definitely takes the bumpy roads near my house much better than my S4. Concrete roads SUCK!

4. The steering wheel feels very solid and precise, although I'm undecided on the perforated leather. It seems to have a waxy feel to it.

5. Love the color ! And the Titanium wheels!

6. The seats are very comfortable and the side bolsters are perfectly positioned, at least for me. A good, snug fit.

7. Bluetooth works pretty well for my Cingular Blackberry 7100g. I had previously updated the firmware and the phone directory downloaded perfectly in about a minute or two (100+ contacts). It's nice not to have to fumble with the phone when receiving a call, but it only happened once so far.

8. Mugello Blue is definitely the BEST color!

and finally, I can't wait to get this car broken-in!

Yes, those are "real" Titanium wheels. I special ordered them from Germany.

Default Fantastic looking car and wheels, I miss mine already!

Getting winter tires put on and already can't stand being away from it. Congratulations James P we have to get a GTG for the Rockies after Thanksgiving. I want to see those titanium wheels in person! Get out there and break that baby in!

Default Whoa, REAL titanium? How much do they weigh? How much did they cost you?

EDIT: Just in case I failed to convey it earlier, your car is stunningly beautiful :-D

Second Edit: I need to get my eyes checked. I did not see the quotation marks around the "real" in your post earlier.

Default Called my dealer, and told them what I wanted. Wasn't a problem (except for the price!)

It took about two weeks, maybe less for the wheels to come in. I only ordered them about 3-4 weeks ago. There are currently none in the US, according to my dealer which is why they had to be special or "red ordered".

Default Sorry, Titanium package wheels, not REAL Titanium!

I got the wheels as part of a winter package from my dealership. The package was for:

4 OEM 19" RS4 wheels (I substituted the Titanium wheels)
4 Dunplop Winter Sport M3
4 TPMS sensors
4 center caps

$3899 before tax (and special "red order" fee)

Default My bad, I did not see the quotation marks in your original post earlier.

They (the wheels) look awesome though.
