Factory Bluetooth Phone Help
So another question with my "new" car to replace the totalled S8. It is a 2009 S8 and yesterday when I test drove the phone sync'd and worked fine. Today it jumps around different displays when it connects to my iPhone 5 for a call. The display changes screens randomly, the microphone mutes itself for no reason and the audio cuts in and out. I tried resetting the MMI, deleting phones from MMI and the Audi connection on my iPhone and starting over. No luck does the same thing. I did wash the car this morning before this but didn't notice anything wet inside the car.
Any ideas on what I can try or look for?
Thanks,
Kris

As always, think phone issue too
One incremental drop among the many a phone takes can do it. Pair it to another known good bluetooth vehicle before even deciding which "end" the problem is on.

So the phone worked fine on the way home. There were no fault codes registered for the phone system. Only thing I can think of is that when I washed the car water somehow got near the electronics that relate to the phone module. I guess it could be something else but not sure what that would be.
If a leak caused that, were would I start to look to remedy the problem? Seems odd that a $100k car delivered in 2009 with less than 40,000 miles would be leaking...
Never had an issue with my old car which was a year older.

Good point. I just assumed the car since the phone worked on the way home. I have never had an issue with the phone, I will try a different phone if it acts up again. I will also do another quick wash of the car to see if that makes it act up again.

Your Bluetooth module is under the drivers carpet. Not the smartest place for electronics, but it is in a plastic case so you need quite a bit of water to flood it. Once flooded, I believe, wont come back. I am not sure what MMI software version you have. Probably the latest, but just in case check it.
