Default Car won't start. Battery died. When I tried to jump it, it just makes a rapid clicking noise...

and the dash lights flicker on and off as it is trying to start.

It won't even crank... just rapid electrical clicking with flashing dash lights.

Any ideas what this might be?

Default Still not getting enough juice.

Leave the donor car running, and leave the jumper cables connected. Wait for 3-4 minutes, and try jumping the car again. When you retry, have someone in the donor car rev the engine up to 3K rpms and hold it there while you're cranking.

Are you using cheap (small) jumper cables? Is the car you're using to jump the Audi a subaru justy or a F350 Super Duty? (the bigger the better)

Default Just happened to me last month. Replace the battery and maintain it.

I tried jumping it multiple times, and was dumbfounded that it wouldn't start, even after the other guy went around the same lot successfully jumpstarting other people.

Yeah yeah yeah, I need to check the water level in the battery. Time for a new one.

Default if you need a new battery go to sears

100 dollars gets you a battery with a 100 month warranty.(8.5 years!) the peace of mind is worth it.

er, I've been told to never rev the engine of the donor car.
